Some of my best friends and I took a canoeing trip down the Cahaba on Saturday. It was a beautiful two hour ride that was peaceful (until the rapids that we experienced going backwards) but exhilarating, and it was nice to do something out of the norm. It was a slightly sketchy experience that involved riding in the bed of a truck with a random man driving, a four mile ride to an unknown location in the woods, a herd of dogs, a cement hut that read “office,” an old rusty slide, a catfish attached to a canoe, and two old men with heavy southern accents and leather skin.  But what’s life without a little spontaneity?
