Reflective Thoughts

January 17, 2011

This past weekend I made a trip home to Georgia and for the first time in years, visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.  The museum is full of beautiful pieces, but it is safe to say that I could spend hours hanging out on the top floor where the modern art is. I fell in love with museums and art galleries last year and fall more in love with them every time I visit one.  I love looking at a piece of art and contriving some kind of meaning as to what it stands for, how the artist may have been inspired, and what they want viewers to take away from it.  The way an artists’ mind thinks is so fascinating, so for me it is like walking in someone else’s shoes when I am looking at a piece of art, trying to think the way they may have.
