Gardens

May 22, 2012

It’s always flattering when you have people in town to visit and they can’t stop talking about how much they love the city you live in. This past weekend, for my college graduation, I had family in town and one of our stops during their stay was the Botanical Gardens. They absolutely loved the serenity of it and raved about it the rest of the weekend. A lot of the flowers hadn’t fully bloomed yet, but the peace and quiet of the entire garden is what made it the most beautiful.

Cinco de Mayo

May 6, 2012

Cinco de Mayo was celebrated at one of our new favorite local spots, Avondale Brewery.  With an abundance of couches strewn through the backyard to sit on, live music, a crawfish boil, and some pretty incredible beer, it was the perfect place for a simple celebration. I think I speak for all of us who were there when I say that we highly recommend a trip there for anyone who hasn’t been. [and definitely try their saison! you can't go wrong]

Happy May! It’s so hard to believe that April flew by so fast. To keep track of these quickly passing days, I made a little desktop calendar and you’re welcome to it as well. [Right click and save the above image to your computer, set it as your desktop background, and voila, you're all set. ] Hope you enjoyed this beautiful day!

A Small Dose of the Future

I am ecstatic about this small collage of photos. It represents a lot for me.

As graduation quickly approaches, I am beyond thrilled, yet completely terrified of what the next chapter of my life will consist of. But one thing is for certain, this collage of photos represents a small piece of my future. And not in the sense that I will be eating spoonfuls of ice cream, eating candy bars regularly, or visiting Fuller Lake, although I’m not writing any of these off as options. However, it does stand for a glimpse of what the next step in my life will look like. In July, I will start at Parsons, taking graphic design classes for the duration of the summer and, for the most part, seeing where it leads me. I have a feeling inspiration boards such as this one will quickly become a large part of my life. So, this is one my first little endeavors of a project to get my self ready for what I may encounter this summer. It represents the unknown future, my current worrying that I will start classes and have zero clue what my professor is talking about, and the utter excitement and anticipation I am experiencing for what lies ahead. I can’t wait to share this finished product with you all.
